Pause transfers
Pausing stops every transfer of your token at once, for every holder. It's an emergency stop: use it if a wallet is compromised, a mistake needs fixing, or you've been told to halt trading.
| Token type | Can it be paused? |
|---|---|
| Approved investors only | Always |
| Open to anyone | Only if Pausable was turned on at launch |
Whether your token can be paused is shown on its public page. See Token rules.
Pause
- Open My tokens, select the token and go to the Supply tab. The pause control is at the top, and reads Transfers are active.
- Select Pause transfers.
- Read the confirmation, Pause all transfers?, and confirm from the wallet that launched the token.
When it's done you'll see Transfers paused.
What a pause does
While transfers are paused:
- No holder can send or receive the token.
- You can't issue, burn or recover tokens either.
- Holders who try to send see that the issuer has paused transfers.
- Your token page, data room and enquiries keep working as usual.
Resume
- On the Supply tab, the control now reads Transfers are paused.
- Select Resume transfers and confirm.
Transfers work again straight away.
